DESCRIPTION:The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon-Cutting ceremony for The Humane Society of Independence County (HSIC). The Ribbon-Cutting will occur at 5 Environmental Drive in Batesville on Tuesday\, April 2\, at 2 p.m. \nHSIC is a registered 501c3 organization dedicated to rescuing abused\, abandoned\, and neglected animals in Independence County and supporting programs to encourage the spay & neuter of unaltered pets. The shelter is pleased to announce the completion of renovations following extensive storm damage sustained last Fall. During the grand re-opening\, HSIC will announce the winner of the 2024 Bad Boy Mower raffle winner. In addition\, HSIC will unveil the winners of the pet portrait contest "Arts for Animals\," a partnership with local schools. Adoptions during the event will be discounted. The community is invited to join the family-friendly event which will include a bounce house\, kid's games & activities\, a training demonstration\, a puppy petting area\, and much more!\nAll community supporters\, chamber members\, ambassadors\, board members\, and staff are invited to attend.
